Excelsior is an innovative and in-depth RPG. It uses text-mode graphics with a custom character set, 2x1 tiles (your character and most objects are two characters wide) and even includes animated tiles. The story involves being a "Fixer" who travels between dimensions solving irregularities / problems as they occur. It plays like a typical old-style RPG, with turn-based battles, many items / weapons / armors / spells to acquire, and a huge world to explore.Excelsior Phase One: Lysandia (DOS) is a classic, space-themed adventure game with elements of strategy, exploration, and role-playing. Released during the early 90s, it combines space exploration with narrative-driven gameplay, where players explore the galaxy, interact with alien species, and engage in various quests. Set in a distant future, the game takes place in the world of Lysandia, where players must navigate both the political and physical challenges of an expansive interstellar environment.
